What is the difference between casual and dress sneakers?

Casual sneakers are built for everyday comfort and tend to feature bolder colours, chunkier soles or sporty detailing. Dress sneakers take a cleaner, more streamlined approach, often in leather or minimal colourways, so they work in smart-casual settings like the office without looking too sporty. Both prioritise comfort, but a dress sneaker is designed to sit more naturally alongside tailored trousers or a structured dress.

How should sneakers fit?

A good pair of sneakers should feel secure through the heel without any slipping, and there should be enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes comfortably. Too much space at the front can cause your foot to slide forward, especially on hills, stairs or during quick movements. If you are between sizes, it is usually safer to size up slightly rather than down, particularly if you plan to wear thicker socks in cooler months.

How do I keep white sneakers clean?

Wiping white sneakers down with a soft cloth after each wear helps stop dirt from building up and setting into the material. A protector spray applied before the first wear makes ongoing cleaning much easier, since it helps repel water and stains before they have a chance to set in. Avoid the tumble dryer and direct sunlight when drying them, since heat can cause yellowing, shrinking, or damage to the glue holding the shoe together over time.
